Singing Competition

Singing

I had to sing into the phone because I was trying to get into a singing competition. I did beautiful singing. My mum was crying because I was singing so beautifully.
I got chosen to be in the final. If I win I will win an iPad and a chrome book.

I have been praying with my family. We have been praying for me to sing beautifully.
Now I will sing everyday to make sure I am ready for the final.

Wig Wednesday

Wig Wednesday
Today it is wig Wednesday. We are wearing our wigs and raising money for child cancer. Some people look quite funny. Some kids are wearing mohawk wigs. Tulili is wearing a pretty purple wig. Israr doesn’t like wearing wigs because they ruin his hair. Mrs Ellis looks like she is Rapunzel.
Wig Wednesday is a fun day. We hope that we raised lots of money.

PREP - Young Enterprise Programme

In week 9 we have something called our PREP market day. So PREP is a part of the young enterprisers programme. The market day is where you sell things for example money tins, food etc. Instead of real money we use Noswads. Noswad is Dawson spelt backwards.

Before we could make something we had to fill out a CV which stands for Curriculum Vitae. A CV is what we used to apply for a job. We could apply for jobs as a CEO, marketer, accountant quality controller or a designer.

Once we had our jobs we decided on a product we would make. We are busy making our products now. Come back and see what we made!

Ramadan

When it is Ramadan, I need to wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning. I have a shower and have something to eat then when it is 6 o’clock, I need to pray.

I put my prayer mat down on the ground. My prayer mat needs to face the direction of mecca. When I pray, I stand up and then I sit down with my head on the ground. I put my head on the picture of the Haj.

In the morning we do the prayer through twice. In the afternoon I do 4 prayers twice. Then I do another 2 prayers. I pray in pashto. During Ramadan I do not eat during the day. I eat when it is dark. I am not allowed to drink water either.

Mum makes us special food at Ramadan. She makes rice, chicken and a special chilli sauce. We also get to drink juice.

Ramadan lasts for one month. After Ramadan we have Eid. At Eid you go to the mosque and then you have special food. You also get presents and new clothes. Eid is a bit like Christmas. You go around wishing everyone a “Happy Eid”.

When I lived in Pakistan, at Eid we used to set off firecrackers. In Pakistan most people are Muslim, so everyone celebrates Eid. I really miss Pakistan and want to go back there for Eid.
